Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, I provide virtual therapy sessions for clients who prefer or require online sessions. Virtual sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
What is your experience as a therapist?
I have over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with specialized training in trauma recovery, family therapy, and grief support. I have extensive experience working in adoption and foster care settings.
Who do you work with?
I provide counseling services for seniors, adults, children, and families. My experience spans all age groups and a variety of mental health concerns.
Where are you located?
I am located in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and offer in-person sessions at my office as well as virtual sessions for clients throughout Pennsylvania.
How long is a typical session?
Standard therapy sessions are typically 50-60 minutes in length. Initial consultations may be longer to allow for a comprehensive assessment and treatment planning.
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, your history, and together create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, all therapy sessions are confidential except in specific situations required by law (such as imminent danger to self or others, abuse of a child or vulnerable adult, or a court order).
How often should I attend therapy?
Session frequency varies based on individual needs. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, though some may benefit from more or less frequent appointments. We'll work together to determine what's best for you.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy specifically designed to help people recover from trauma and PTSD. It uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain process traumatic memories. I am trained in EMDR and currently working toward full certification.
Do you work with children?
Yes, I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents. I offer age-appropriate therapies including PCIT (for young children ages 2-7) and TF-CBT (for children and teens who have experienced trauma).
Can I use my insurance?
Yes, I accept commercial insurance plans. Please contact me with your insurance information, and I can verify your coverage and let you know about any potential out-of-pocket costs.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows me to offer the time to another client who may need it.
